Your questions, answered

What does Hivebreed do?

Hivebreed is a marketing team for B2B and tech companies that need growth, not just marketing activity. We embed into your business, own your marketing strategy, and execute against outcomes that actually move the needle. We are not an agency you brief. We are the team that figures out what needs to happen and makes it work.

How is Hivebreed different from other marketing options?

Most marketing options give you one of three things. Agencies give you deliverables. Freelancers give you hours. In-house hires give you presence but need direction. Hivebreed gives you all three without the limitations of any. You get a strategic layer that knows where to focus, an execution layer that gets it done, and accountability tied to outcomes — not timesheets, not retainer hours, not a list of things we posted this month. We operate as your marketing department with one difference: everything we do is tied to growth, not activity.

What do you mean by "outcomes, not output"?

Output is easy to measure and easy to fake. You can post three times a week, run ads every day, and redesign your website — and still not grow. We do not measure our work by what we produce. We measure it by what it produces. That means pipeline, revenue, lead quality, positioning strength, cost per acquisition. If the work is not creating traction, we change the work. We do not keep delivering what was agreed and call it done.

What are the three levels of engagement?

We work across three stages — Launch, Grow, and Scale. Each one matches where your business is right now, not what you want to buy.

How do I know which level is right for my company?

Ask yourself one question: what is the main thing holding your marketing back right now? If the answer is "we do not have a clear brand, website, or go-to-market plan" — that is Launch. If the answer is "we are doing marketing but it is inconsistent, disconnected, or not producing reliable results" — that is Grow. If the answer is "we are growing but we are not differentiated, and competitors are closing the gap" — that is Scale. If you are not sure, that is what the first conversation is for. We will tell you where you are and what makes sense.

What does a typical engagement look like?

Every engagement starts with strategy. We do not touch execution until we know where to aim. From there, we build the system — positioning, channels, campaigns, content — based on what your business actually needs to grow. Not a template. Not a package. You get a dedicated team, a clear plan, and regular reporting against outcomes. We operate on a rhythm: strategic review, execution, measurement, adjustment. That cycle repeats every month.

Do you work on a retainer or project basis?

Both, depending on the engagement level. Launch-stage work often runs as a defined project with a clear scope — brand, website, campaign — with a start and end date. Grow and Scale engagements run on a monthly retainer. This is not a lock-in. It is alignment. Growth does not happen in a one-off project. It happens when someone is consistently steering the ship, adjusting course, and compounding results over time. We structure retainers so you always know what you are paying for and what it is producing.

What if I already have an in-house marketing person?

Good. That makes this easier, not harder. Most in-house marketing people are strong executors stuck without strategy, direction, or bandwidth. They know the business better than anyone but they are buried in day-to-day tasks and cannot step back to see the bigger picture. We do not replace them. We give them the strategy, the structure, and the support to actually do their best work. Think of us as the senior marketing layer your business needs but is not ready to hire full-time.

How do you measure results?

With the metrics that matter to your business P&L, not vanity numbers. That means we track pipeline, lead quality, revenue contribution, cost per acquisition, conversion rates, and positioning indicators. Not followers. Not impressions. Not engagement rate unless it is directly tied to something that drives revenue. We report monthly. Every report answers one question: is the marketing working, and if not, what are we changing?

What happens if it is not working?

We fix it. That is the whole point of an outcome-based model. If a channel is underperforming, we adjust. If the positioning is not landing, we rework it. If the strategy needs to shift, we shift it. We do not wait until the end of a quarter to tell you something is not working. We own the outcome, which means we own the problem when results are not there. You will never hear us say we delivered what was agreed as a response to underperformance.
