Being in lock-down does not mean that business has to stop!
The recent lockdown in Cyprus has affected hundreds of thousands of people and business owners. But being in lockdown does not mean that business has to stop! This was the case with one of our newest clients, Christou Bros, one of Cyprus’ biggest D.I.Y, engineering tools and building materials providers, with 4 physical stores across Larnaca.
Our challenge was simple: to respond to the need that was created by offering people the chance to buy their products online and have them delivered fast and safely without leaving their home. Our approach was that you can stay safe and spend quality time with your family, while taking care of your home, and we will offer advice, ideas and high-quality products.
The first step of this 6-weeks plan was to use social media posts and story ads to share ideas, inspire and excite people to start their own projects, add some colour to their lives and take their mind off of what was happening.
During the first phase, different products and moodboards for ideas were promoted, with a Call to Action to send a message and get inspired by viewing an online catalogue, or ask for more information.
As a result our ads had been successfully viewed more than 635K times.
In order to motivate and offer an incentive to people who were interested, the Free Delivery offer across Cyprus should be promoted. This was achieved using multiple channels and placements through social media newsfeed and story ads, Google Display ads and a remarketing strategy, to increase the frequency in which people were viewing our ads and create top of mind associations.
During the Free Delivery remarketing campaign, all ads across different channels had an average of 0.86% CTR and more than 3,4K clicks sending traffic back to the website, all at a Cost per Click of €0.15.
Website traffic and online sales was another important issue. While working with social media campaigns, a Google Search campaign was deployed in order to target people who were actively searching for tools, paints or other D.I.Y materials and drive them to the website. Using specific targeting and daily optimisations, a Click Through Rate of 6.23% was achieved throughout the campaign.
People who were visiting the website needed a direct way to ask questions and get information on specific products they were looking for. With this problem in mind, a live chat tool was installed on the website in order to create conversations with visitors and engage with them, offering a quick response to their questions, while also gathering data from visitors. For the duration of the campaign, more than 100 new conversations were completed through the website.
By using efficiently different channels, taking advantage of the benefits of each channel and following a very tactical approach, during this campaign our client received 415 verified requests through social media.

The next step is to fully evaluate all procedures and campaigns and decide on what changes should be made now that circumstances have changed.
